History

Effective March 31, 2018, aXseum Solutions, LLC was merged into aXseum, Inc. (previously known as CIS Federal, Inc.) and all of the assets, financial capability, past performance, intellectual property and other resources used in company performance are now part of aXseum, Inc.

This merger combines corporate past performance and strengths from both companies delivering large-scale IT and logistics projects to the government worldwide.

aXseum Solutions officially started operations on July 1, 2002 with the purpose of providing comprehensive technical solutions to the Federal Government and commercial clients. Michael Perez founded aXseum after spending several years working in business development with numerous government clients. As a business development specialist, Mr. Perez built two other successful technology-oriented small businesses before founding aXseum. Not long after aXseum Solutions was founded, it was awarded its first major contract to perform IT solutions at the IRS Chief Counsel’s Office. The company’s performance on that contract earned additional work with the IRS as well as the Department of Homeland Security.

In addition to continuing to work on its initial contracts, aXseum Solutions began its specialization in international economic infrastructure development and program management solutions. In 2008 it was awarded the prime contract for the Iraq Transportation Network (ITN) program. The program’s success led the Secretary of the Air Force to award aXseum an additional contract to perform the same work in Afghanistan – the Afghan Transportation Network (ATN) program.

The success of the ITN and ATN programs led to work with the Task Force for Business Stability Operations requiring aXseum to implement a robust end-to-end financial infrastructure in Iraq. The initial financial program led to two more financial infrastructure and banking contracts and a third, performing work for CENTCOM. By 2010, aXseum was providing support services for several energy revitalization programs in Afghanistan to include project and program managers, subject matter experts, and accounting transparency professionals. In 2015, aXseum leadership began exploring opportunities for expansion in the domestic IT field.

In June 2016, aXseum Solutions, LLC acquired CIS Federal, Inc. (formerly known as Cherokee Information Services). Mr. Michael I. Hodges founded CIS in 1990 as a Native American owned company. In 1995 the company was accepted into the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business Program. CIS graduated from the 8(a) program in 2004 and in 2006 was recognized as the SBA National 8(a) Graduate of the Year. CIS has received other accolades to include being inducted into the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame in 2005, an honor bestowed on privately held companies that have been named to the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame for at least five years. In addition, Deloitte and Touche selected CIS to be on their list of the fastest 500 growing technology companies seven years in a row. In 2013, Mr. Hodges retired and sold CIS Federal, Inc. to the corporate executive team who later sold to aXseum Solutions. The company started doing business under the name aXseum, Inc. in 2017.

Now combined, aXseum is proud to carry on the legacies carried forward from both companies and plans to continue expansion in the future.
